District To Host Farewell Send-Off For Dr. Mary Alice Heuschel, Wednesday
Dr. Heuschel will start her new position as Chief of Staff for Gov.-elect Jay Inslee in mid-January.
A community-wide farewell event is planned to wish Dr. Mary Alice Heuschel well on Wednesday, January 9. Dr. Heuschel will leave the Renton School District to begin work in the governor's office as Chief of Staff for Gov.-elect Jay Inslee later this month.
Everyone is invited to this free event. Dr. Heuschel has served as Renton Schools superintendent since July 1, 2006. District staff are working to prepare a transition plan for the School Board that includes selecting an interim superintendent and hiring a search firm to solicit applications for a new superintendent.
