Boys Lacrosse: Peninsula-Gig Harbor Downs Liberty, 10-6

Peninsula-Gig Harbor rode a high-scoring first-half to victory Friday night.

Bryce Wilder scored a hat trick to lead Peninsula-Gig Harbor to its sixth win of the spring with a 10-6 defeat of Liberty High School, Friday at Peninsula High School in Division II boys high school lacrosse.

The combined team from Gig Harbor’s two high schools blanked Liberty in the opening quarter while putting up three of its own in the first and second for a 6-2 lead at the half.

In the second half, Liberty added a goal in the third and eventually outscored Peninsula-Gig Harbor in the fourth with three.

Wilder finished the night adding an assist for four points.

Liberty’s Scotty Smith had two goals, while Sam Dodt grabbed seven ground balls.

Liberty (2-5-0) next faces Garfield (3-0-0), Friday, April 19 in a 5 p.m. start at Upper Genesee Park in Seattle.

Peninsula-Gig Harbor (6-1-0) next faced Aloha (Ore.) (6-1-0), Saturday, April 6 in Beaverton, Ore.
