The Cedar River Salmon Journey is seeking volunteer naturalists to share the epic tale of salmon making their way to spawn in their home stream after years in the ocean. Volunteers receive 20 hours of training from fish and watershed experts and then spend 3 October weekends out on the river talking to visitors.
Many volunteers have stayed with the program for years because it is such a rewarding and impactful experience. Contact Charlotte Spang at charlotte@cedarriver.org to sign-up and to learn more. The Cedar River runs through the heart of Renton, making the salmon part of our community. We are looking for you to get to know the miraculous details of the salmon's ancient migration and share their story. Join Us! www.cedarriver.org
The Cedar River Salmon Journey runs from 11am to 4pm at Cavanaugh Pond, Riverview Park, Cedar River Park, Renton Library and Landsburg Dam. As always, it is free and family friendly!
