Christmas is over, and it’s time to rid your home of the holiday tree. Why not recycle it this year?
Renton residents have several arbor-recycling this year. Trees may be put out for weekly yard waste pickup, but remember to remove all hooks, ornaments, tinsel and stands before setting the tree on the curb. The branches and trunk should be cut into lengths of four feet or less, and then bundled with natural fiber or string. Artificial, fireproofed or flocked trees will not be accepted.
For more information on recycling, visit King County Solid Waste's tree recycling site, or by call King County Solid Waste at 206-296-4466.
