Today, April 17, is the deadline to mail your federal income taxes or seek an extension in order to avoid penalties and interest.

File them online before midnight, using IRS Free File or some other service, or by using IRS e-file (the digital forms in this option look almost exactly like the paper forms and come with automatic calculations).
If you want to go old school, you can mail the paper forms to the Internal Revenue Service. Keep in mind the Downtown Renton, Renton Highlands, Fairwood and Skyway Post Offices will close at 5 p.m.
