Renton Traffic Alert: Westbound NE 4th Street to Be Reduced To One Lane Next Week

The City of Renton says the project will improve safety and traffic operations at the intersection with 4th and Whitman Court, while improving access to shopping and the Post Office.

Renton road crews say they will shut down most westbound lanes along NE 4th Street next week for repairs near the 4th Street Plaza and Safeway shopping centers.

Westbound NE 4th Street in Renton will be reduced to one lane for five days, beginning March 18, to allow for removal of old asphalt pavement and installation of new concrete pavement at the NE 4th Street/Union Ave NE intersection.

When this project is completed, improvements will include a signalized intersection of NE 4th Street and Whitman Court NE and a westbound bicycle lane and sidewalk landscape strips.Β
