Renton road crews say they will shut down most westbound lanes along NE 4th Street next week for repairs near the 4th Street Plaza and Safeway shopping centers.
Westbound NE 4th Street in Renton will be reduced to one lane for five days, beginning March 18, to allow for removal of old asphalt pavement and installation of new concrete pavement at the NE 4th Street/Union Ave NE intersection.
When this project is completed, improvements will include a signalized intersection of NE 4th Street and Whitman Court NE and a westbound bicycle lane and sidewalk landscape strips.
The project will improve safety and traffic operations at this intersection and busy access to shopping and the Post Office. This project also includes the replacement of a water main under NE 4th Street.
