Renton School District Provides Lunches For Low-Income Students Over Summer Break

The program, funded through a federal grant, is offered June 25 to August 17, at apartments, churches, community centers and parks (sites, dates and serving times are listed below). Lunches, which must be eaten on site, will be served Monday through Friday unless otherwise noted and no lunches will be served July 4, 5 and 6.

The summer lunch program was established to ensure that children in lower-income areas continue to receive nutritious meals during the summer when they do not have access to school meal programs. The program is open to the public, and there is no registration required. For more information, visit the district’s Web site atwww.rentonschools.us.
