Renton Police Department Now Accepting Application For Fall Citizen's Academy

Learn about the day-to-day workings of the different departments within the Renton Police.

Renton's Citizen's Academy fall session will soon be underway. Instead of watching 'CSI' or 'Law and Order' why not spend the evening at learning about the day-to-day of Renton Police officers?

The fall session of the Renton Police Department Citizen's Academy begins next Tuesday, September 13. Classes will be held each week for 12 weeks,. Topics will include Patrol Operations, SWAT, Narcotics, and more.  Tours of the 9-1-1 dispatch center and regional jail and a ride-along with a police officer are included in this free class. Class size is limited to 25, and students must be at least 18 years old to attend.

Criminal history or a record of adverse police contacts may preclude acceptance into the academy. There are only a few seats left for this session, so submit your application today. Visit the City of Renton web site, or call 425-430-7520 for more information.
