Renton City Hall Bookkeeping Praised in Audit Award

The City of Renton was awarded a "Certificate of Achievement" by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual fiscal report.

A Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Renton by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual fiscal report.

This is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. “This award is a testament to the city’s focus on innovation, efficiency and improved productivity,” said Iwen Wang, Administrative Services Administrator. “Our staff does an outstanding job with this complex report and we are pleased that they continue to be recognized for their efforts.”

The award is judged by an impartial panel and applicants demonstrate a “constructive spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate their financial story. The Government Finance Officers Association serves approximately 17, 500 government officials with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
