Reminder: Ballots Are Due Today, Aug. 16

Ballots are due to the county or need to be postmarked by Aug. 16. Voters who need assistance can vote in person at the King County elections Office in Renton.

The King County Primary Election is Tuesday, Aug. 16. There are three Renton City Council candidates who are on the ballot for Position No. 5, which is being vacated by . They are: , and .

The county-wide $13.3 million Veterans and Human Services Levy is also on the ballot. If approved, the average homeowner would pay $15 more a year in property tax to assist veterans and human services programs.

Visit the King County Elections Web site for a full list of the drop box locations. That drop box will be closed after 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

King County has an all mail-in ballot, although voters with disabilities may vote in person at the in Renton from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Accessible voting units offer lap paddles and sip-and-puff devices, as well as audio, and large and high-contrast text options. All voters can use the accessible voting centers, though identification and signature will be required to vote in person.
