Primary Election Ballots Due Tuesday: Voters to Decide King County Parks Levy, Council Plus Executive Seats

King County Elections data shows that as of Friday, August 2, only about 14 percent of registered county voters had returned their ballots.

All King County voters are deciding the fate of a King County parks levy intended to replace two expiring 2007 levy lid lifts.

Funds from the levy would be used to maintain the county's parks and trails and to expand the regional trail system. (More info on the levy can be found here.)

The measure requires a simple majority to pass.

Meanwhile, incumbent King County Executive Dow Constantine faces challenges by three other candidates for his seat: Alan E. Lobdell, Goodspaceguy and Everett A. Stewart. The County Elections site has more information about all four men.

For Renton area voters, incumbent County Position No. 9 Councilmember Reagan Dunn is up against Shari Song and Kristina Macomber

Primary election voters are narrowing candidates to two each in both races ahead of November's general election.

Ballots must be postmarked by Aug. 6 or returned to a designated drop box by 8 p.m. that day. County Elections data shows that as of Friday, August 2, only about 14 percent of registered county voters had returned their ballots.
