King County Council Approves Funding For Aerospace Alliance

King County Executive Dow Constantine today praised the Metropolitan King County Council for their fast work to pass funding to support the work of the . Monday’s action funds $100,000 toward a competitiveness study that will assess the current state of the aerospace industry in King County, and report back within 90 days on actions members of the Alliance and region can take to support and grow the local aerospace industry. An additional $30,000 will fund King County’s share of support for the state's aerospace partnership, the Pegasus Project.

“This targeted funding will promote regional economic recovery and is proof that this government stands ready to support the creation of local, family wage jobs,” said King County Executive Dow Constantine. “I am thankful that the council has acted so quickly to demonstrate that our region, which has the factories, workforce and transportation infrastructure, is determined to compete in the aerospace industry on a global scale.”
