Hold Tight: Waste Management Will Pick Up Missed Garbage & Recycling

Pickups missed due to last week's snow and ice storm will be collected.

Unsafe roads conditions caused by severe weather prevented the collection of some curbside garbage and recycling in the City of Renton during the week of January 17-20.  If your curbside garbage and recycling were not collected on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday of that week, Waste Management provides these guidelines for garbage, recycling, food and yard waste removal of residential customers:

Garbage and Recycling: If your garbage and recycling was missed due to snow on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, WM will pick up both your garbage and recycling on Friday January 27, 2012.  Please put both your recycling and garbage carts curbside by 7:00am on Friday, January 27, 2012 for pick up.

Yard/Food Waste: Yard/food waste will be collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day.

Residents with trees or branches to dispose of can place them in their Yard and Food Waste carts.

They must be trimmed to less than 4 feet in length and not exceed 4 inches in diameter. If you have more than your cart will hold, place them in cardboard boxes, paper or compostable bags, or tie them in bundles less than 3 ½ feet in any dimension as long as it doesn’t exceed 60 pounds.  Alternatively, excess tree branches and limbs can be saved for the next scheduled collection day or be disposed of at the following locations (fees may apply):
