City, Waste Management to Postpone "Clean Air" Truck Christening

Severe weather forecast to blame for postponed ceremony.

The City of Renton and Waste Management announced that a "clean air" truck christening ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, Feb. 23 has been postponed until further notice.

"The National Weather Service has predicted that the snow conditions tomorrow are likely to be similar to what we experienced in November and the cold front is likely to hit tomorrow afternoon," City Communications Director Preeti Shidhar wrote in an email alert this evening.

The event, where the City of Renton and Waste Management were  to christen 19 new “clean air” trucks, was originally planned to take place at IKEA  from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
