Chamber Of Commerce Finalizes Agreement With Burlington Northern For Depot Purchase

The Chamber of Commerce will move to downtown Renton later this year.

After 50 years overlooking the Renton Municipal Airport, the Renton Chamber of Commerce will makes its new home at the former Burlington Northern Railroad Depot in downtown Renton.

President of the Renton Chamber of Commerce Bill Taylor said the sale closed on Monday, March 5.

“And now the real work begins,” he joked while at the depot on Tuesday.

Renton Patch broke the news of the as its long-term lease with the City of Renton — set to expire on Dec. 31, 2011  — drew near.

At that time, Taylor correctly estimated the closing to occur around the end of Feb. 2012.
