Warmth Of Spring Delayed

March 20 is the official first day of spring. Renton's spring-like weather may begin to show on Friday.

Following a weekend of snow flurries and hail showers, let’s give a warm welcome to spring.

Less than 24-hours before the seasonal calendar flipped over, morning commuters spun off the roadways during the Monday morning commute. At least two early morning spin-out accidents occurred in Renton yesterday, causing travel headaches and backups.

Engine 13, Aid 17, Medic 5, Battalion 12 and Battalion13 responded to a multiple accidents in the 11100 Blk. of Carr Road. One incident involved two spun-out cars; another crash in the same area involved single car that slid off the road and into a tree. Black ice on Carr Road caused both accidents, according to officials. One patient, who was trapped in their car, was extricated and transported to Valley Medical Center in serious condition.
