Two Injured After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Power Pole

King County Fire District 20 and Renton Fire and Emergency Services responded to the 11500 block of Rainier Ave South, Monday evening to a report of a truck into a power pole. 

According to witness reports, the pick-up struck another vehicle and a power pole before the vehicle came to rest on the side walk in front of the Blue Star Food Mart.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. Renton Fire crews along with King County Medic One arrive to find an unconscious man in the pick-up truck and worked together to extricated the man. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to Valley Medical Center by Renton Fire Aid.

The King County Sheriffs Office is investigating the cause of the accident, that shut down southbound Rainier Avenue South for two hours while officials investigated and removed the cars.
