Two-Car Evening Accident Snarls Petrovitsky Traffic, Sends Two To Harborview

Renton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a two-car accident Wednesday just after 6 p.m.

A two-car accident at the intersection of 118th and SE Petrovitsky Rd. snarled traffic Wednesday evening.

Just after 6 p.m. Renton police and fire responded to the accident.

Patch received a tip from @CellSeattle at 6:10 p.m., "@RentonPatch huge accident right between 116th and 120 and southeast petrovitsky. avoid if you can!"

A few minutes later Mark Burchard emailed Patch with this message, "Fire and police blocking Se Petrovitsky near 117th. All lanes blocked. Not sure if it is vehicle or pedestrian related."

Renton Fire and Emergency Services treated five people at the scene; two people were transported to Harborview Medical Center, according to Deputy Fire Chief Erik Wallgren.

Six fire units, one medic, two ambulance, and multiple Renton Police Units responded, he said. Traffic was able to pass the accident scene slowly, with alternating one-way travel. Bother lanes were re-opened by 7:45 p.m.
