Transformer Fire Closes Petrovitsky Road Late Sunday Night

Renton Police and fire blocked a section of Petrovitsky Road from 117th to 108th Sunday night after a transformer caught fire.

A transformer caight fire just before 9 p.m. on Petrovitsky Road Sunday and sent sparks flying near a residential area, according to fire officials.

Renton Police and Renton Fire and Emergency Services closed Petrovitsky Road from 117th to 108th shortly after they arrived. Officials said Puget Sound Energy had been notified and was on its way to the scene. Repairs could take four to six hours.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
