Skyway Shooting Victim Dies From Injuries Related To 1998 Incident

King County Sheriff's Detectives will meet with prosecutors this week to determine if additional charges will be filed in the recent death of Johnson.

Lakessha Johnson, 34, the victim of a 1998 shooting in Skyway, died this week as a result of the gunshot wound she suffered thrirteen years ago.

In November 1998, Johnson was the passenger in the front seat of a car that was leaving the Skyway Bowl. Ronnie Brown, who sat in the back seat of the vehicle reported at the time that he picked up a bag that contained a gun. The firearm and it went off, striking Johnson in the back.

King County Sheriff’s Detectives will meet with prosecutors this week to determine if additional charges will be filed in the recent death of Johnson.

Brown was found guilty of charges relating to this incident and served approximately two years in prison.  Brown is currently in prison on unrelated charges.
