Semi-Truck Accident Closes 405 Onramp In Renton

The accident caused a three and a half hour closure of the northbound 167 to Northbound 405 onramp.

A Semi-Truck Double-Trailer transporting hazardous material rolled on to its side in Renton, causing a freeway ramp closure for more than three hours early Wednesday morning.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) closed the onramp from northbound 167 to Northbound 405 following the accident, which occurred at 1:45 a.m. No hazardous material leaked from the truck, according to a report from the WSP.

The driver, Steven Dale Nikas, 48, of Camas was uninjured in the crash and was cited for ‘driving too fast for conditions.’ The 2003 Freightliner Tractor Double-Trailer was towed from the scene by Skyway Kent.
