Renton Shooting Injures Two

Friday's shooting is the fourth downtown Renton shooting to occur in 2011.

Shortly after midnight on Friday Renton Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of Wells Ave. S.

Officers found a 22-year-old Seattle man wounded with multiple gun shots and a 22-year-old Renton woman who sustained a single gunshot wound, according to a statement from the Renton Police Department. Neither victim’s injuries are considered life threatening.

Police believe the shooting occurred outdoors following an argument or altercation and does not appear to be a random shooting.

“The suspects are described as two males in their 20s, one Asian, and one White.  They may have left the scene in an older black BMW,” according to the police statement.

This is the fourth shooting resulting in injuries in downtown Renton this year.

Past 2011 shootings in downtown Renton:

1. A 17-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man were shot outside a Renton grocery store on 200 S. 3rd Street on January 28. Both recovered from their injuries; however, the suspects were never caught.
