Renton Police Still Investigating Jet Vista Fatal Shooting

Neither shooting victim's identity have been released.

The Renton Police Department is continuing its .

On Tuesday, Sept. 6, a young African American man was fatally shot in the chest behind the Jet Vista Apartment complex in the 200 block of Taylor Avenue Northwest. His identity has not yet been released.

Another man, whose age and identity are also unknown, was shot and transported to Valley Medical Center by a driver in a vehicle registered to a SeaTac address.

The second victim, who was dropped off at Valley Medical, underwent surgery and is still at the hospital.

The man who hitched a ride to the hospital initially said he was at Walmart when he was shot, said an Official with the Renton Police Department; however, there was no shooting that night at the Renton big box store.

The man who transported the surviving shooting victim was later located by hospital security and questioned by Renton Police.

The Police do not have any new information available other than the shooting is not thought to be gang-related.

The case is still open and detectives are actively pursuing leads.
