Renton Police Seek Witnesses in I-405 Shooting Wednesday Afternoon

Two victims with wounds assessed to be non life-threatening were located in south Seattle.

Renton Police are asking anyone who may have seen or have information about a shooting incident Wednesday afternoon on southbound I-405 in Renton to come forward. 

According to a department press release, at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, the Washington State Patrol responded to a reported shooting on southbound I-405 in the Renton area. Troopers were not able to locate a victim at the time, but Seattle Police located two gunshot victims about half an hour later in south Seattle.  

The gunshot victims were apparently riding in a white four door sedan on I-405, when they were hit by gunfire from another vehicle; both suffered wounds that are believed to be non life-threatening.

Initially, it was thought that this shooting occurred in Tukwila, but subsequent investigation placed the incident on the section of southbound I-405 between the Valley Freeway (SR 167) interchange and the West Valley Road exit.

Renton Police are asking anyone who witnessed any activity possibly related to this shooting to call 425-430-7500, reference case number 13-8201.  Even if witnesses have spoken about this to any other Law Enforcement agency, they are asked to call Renton Police directly.
