UPDATE: Renton Police Investigate Another Shooting At Crestview Apartments

Shooting happens during vigil for man who was killed Friday morning

UPDATE - July 29, 2012 8 a.m.

Renton Police identified a 23-year-old Las Vegas was shot three times Saturday night while attending a candlelight vigil for a man shot and killed Friday morning in the same location.

Detective Robert Onishi said in a city press release Sunday "The shooting does not appear to be random, and at this time it is not believed that the shooting is in retaliation for the previous homicide."

The Renton Police Department is investigating another shooting at the Crestview Apartments along SW Sunset Blvd Saturday night. .

According to Renton Police Detective Robert Onishi, a group of people gathered to remember the victim of Friday's murder when an argument broke out and shots were fired just before 10 p.m. 

A large police response from Renton and Tukwila came to the apartment complex. Onishi says they are interviewing witnesses and gathering more information. He believes the two shootings are not connected to the Crestview Apartments. But they are still trying to pinpoint why Friday's victim was at the apartments just before 1 a.m.

The King County Medical Examiner has yet to release the name of Friday's victim. Saturday's victim was treated by Renton Fire and transported by King County Medic One to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with multiple gunshot wounds; they appear to be non-life threatening. 

Police officials had no additional information on who Saturday's victim was.
