Update: Renton Man's Stabbing Ruled Homicide

Update Tuesday, July 23: The Renton Reporter reports the victim's name is Jordan Allan Cruz. The King County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled his death a homicide and that he died of multiple stab wounds.

A Renton man was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning after he confronted a teen who was breaking into a parked car, according to Renton police.

At about 1:15 a.m. on the 200 block of SW 5th Place in Renton, the victim and his brothers reportedly confronted a 16-year-old Seattle resident who had attempted to enter a parked car belonging to one of the brothers a few minutes earlier. A fight ensued between the 16-year-old and the victim, during which the victim was stabbed. 

When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old Renton man with two stab wounds to his torso. He died while in surgery at Harborview Medical Center.

The 16-year-old and an associate were arrested at the scene, and the apparent murder weapon recovered, police said.
