Renton Man Critically Injured in State Route 18 Accident Near Auburn

Witness reported both drivers involved were traveling at high rates of speed before the accident.

A 24-year-old Renton man was transported to Harborview Medical Center and a 44-year-old man from Auburn is in jail for vehicular assault following a collision Thursday morning on eastbound State Route 18 just east of Green River.

The accident took place at about 10:15 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. Both drivers were headed eastbound on SR 18 when the Renton man's vehicle lost control and left the roadway to the left. It rolled several times and the driver was ejected. Meanwhile, the Auburn man also struck a second vehicle. Neither he, nor the 23-year-old driver from Puyallup, sustained injuries.

Witness reported both the Auburn and Renton drivers were traveling at high rates of speed before the accident.
