Renton Man Convicted for 2011 Bus Shelter Shooting

Say Keodara, 19, has recently been convicted of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault.

A jury has found a Renton man guilty as charged of Murder First Degree and Assault First Degree for a September 2011 shooting during a robbery attempt at a Seattle bus shelter that left one man dead and three other people wounded.

On May 20, the jury convicted Say Keodara, 19, of Murder First Degree and three counts of Assault First Degree.

All four charges include firearm sentencing enhancements. He was also convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

The defendant tried to rob three homeless men at the bus shelter near South McClellan Street and Rainier Avenue South in Seattle and became angry when they didn't have any valuables or cash.

Keodara opened fire when one of the victims tried to run from the scene, according to The Seattle Times.

A woman who had been waiting for a bus was also wounded in the shooting.

Keodara will face a sentence range of 78 to 98 years in prison, which includes the firearm enhancements.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 14 at 10 a.m. before Judge Laura Middaugh at the King County Courthouse.
