Renton Man Accused of Selling Fake Chihuly Glass Art

Federal authorities say Michael Little, 35, marketed the counterfeit art through eBay.

Federal authorities have filed a criminal complaint against a Renton man who allegedly marketed and sold counterfeit art pieces.

Authorities say Michael Little, 35, claimed to possess art made by iconic glass artist Dale Chihuly. He allegedly marketed the pieces on eBay, selling several to a man who intended to donate them to the Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University in Spokane.

Chihuly is an internationally renowned artist from Tacoma. His work has been exhibited at galleries and museums around the world, as well as at the new Chihuly Garden and Glass museum at Seattle Center.

Little's first court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at U.S. District Court in Seattle.

If convicted, Little could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
