Police Block Logan Avenue For Two Hours After Reports Of A "Suspicious Device"

The Port of Seattle Bomb Squad called the device "just a little noisemaker."

A "suspicious device" disrupted traffic along Logan Avenue North late Sunday morning.

Police recieved the report at 9:40 a.m. After an initial investigation, they called the Port of Seattle Police and closed the roadway from all car, bike and pedestrian traffic by 9:56 a.m., according to officials at the scene. Police also roped off a large section of the parking lot with yellow "Police Line" tape.

Police cars blocked Logan Avenue North between North 10th Street (near Red Robin) and North Eigth Street (near LA Fitness) while the Port of Seattle Bomb Squad worked to determine if the device posed a threat. An aid unit was also called as a precaution.

Just before noon the bomb squad fired a water hose at the device, which produced a loud boom. An officer with the bomb sqad then retrieved the destroyed device and determined that it was not a bomb, calling it "just a little noisemaker."

Logan Avenue North re-opened just after noon.
