Petrovitsky Road Closed for More Than Five Hours Today Following Car vs Pole Collision

One person sent to Harborview; Puget Sound Energy is working to re-open the road.

 

A section of SE Petrovitsky Road was closed for more than nine hours on Wednesday after a car stuck a power pole in the 183200 block at 12:19 this afternoon. The road reopened at 10 p.m.

Two fire engines, one aid unit, one medic unit and two battalion chiefs responded to the accident from the Renton Fire Department, said Deputy Fire Chief Erik Wallgren. King County Sheriffs Department and the King County Roads Service Division handled the detour. Puget Sound Energy also responded to fix the downed pole.

Four people were involved in the accident. The driver of the car that hit the power pole was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, two sustained other injuries, and one was uninjured.

Maple Valley Fire Department also responded to the accident.
