Murder Suspect Michael Boysen Upgraded to Serious Condition in Oregon Hospital

He was taken there with self-inflicted wounds Tuesday night.

Michael Boysen, suspected of killing his grandparents in their Fairwood home last week, was upgraded to serious condition in a Portland hospital Wednesday, The Associated Press reports.

The 26-year-old was taken there Tuesday night after a standoff at a Lincoln City, OR, motel with police. When police finally took him into custody, he had self-inflicted cutting wounds, according to media reports.

King County Prosecutor's spokesman Dan Donohoe said a charging decision was not expected Wednesday.

Authorities say Boysen killed his grandparents, Robert and Norma Taylor, last Friday or Saturday after they picked him up from prison and threw a welcome home party for him at their home in unincorporated Renton. Authorities have not said how the two were killed, other than to say they had not been shot.
