Man With Outstanding Warrant Leads Police On Chase Through Skyway, Renton

The 37-year-old suspect was booked into the King County jail.

The driver of a suspected stolen SUV led King County Sheriff’s Deputies on a chase late Wednesday night. 

A deputy initially stopped the SUV because it was driving in an area where police have seen “a lot of illegal dumpings and other issues,” said Sgt. Cindi West.

After speaking with the driver, a 37-year-old man from Ephrata, the deputy when he went back to his car to run the man’s name. At that point, the driver took off, she said.

Deputies chased the SUV through Skyway and into Renton, where the Renton Police Department assisted with the pursuit. The King County Guardian 1 helicopter also participated in the chase.

After catching up with the suspect, police determined the license plates were stolen. The vehicle is also suspected to be stolen property.

Not including the SUV he was found in Wednesday night, police found that the driver also had a warrant for Possession of Stolen Vehicle. He was arrested and booked into the King County jail.
