Man Sent to Hospital After Renton Fire Responds to Drowning Call

A man in his 40s was transported to Harborview Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

Renton Fire & Emergency Services Department received a call regarding a possible drowning at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park at 2:04 p.m. on Saturday, according to Battalion Chief John Lecoq.

En route to the scene, crews learned that the possible victim was out of the water.

Upon arrival, they find a man in his 40s, who was conscious but unresponsive.

The man was transported to Harborview Hospital.

A 10-year-old, who was also believed to be involved in the incident, was safely returned to the child’s family

Lecoq said two citizens played a key role as they helped bring the victim to shore.
