Increased DUI Patrols on the Road for St. Patrick's Day Weekend

Police will increase DUI patrols all weekend as St. Patrick's Day, a day of revelry that often invoves alcohol, is celebrated this Sunday, March 17.

Renton police, the State Patrol and the King County and Snohomish County Sheriff's Offices are warning St. Patrick's Day revelers to avoid driving this weekend, promising increased DUI enforcement this weekend.

With St. Patrick's Day this Sunday, March 17, extra DUI patrols will take place all weekend.

"Don't drink and drive for St. Patrick's Day – we will catch you," a news release said.

State Liquor Control Board employees will also be out visiting local bars and taverns to educate people about the DUI patrols and serving only to customers 21 and older.

They will also distribute "Click 2 Ride" cards with information about local taxi services.
