UPDATE: Elderly Woman Killed in Car Accident on North Park Drive
Westbound NE Park Drive in Renton is currently closed, due to the police investigation, causing major traffic delays.
UPDATE, Friday, 12:15 p.m.:
Renton Police say an elderly woman was killed Friday morning as she tried to flag down help after an accident at Garden Avenue North on North Park Drive.
According to a press release, police were dispatched at 10:27 a.m. and a few minutes later found an elderly female with life-threatening injuries. Despite treatment efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.

Preliminary indications are that a 77-year-old Issaquah man was driving his 1995 Mercedes westbound on North Park Drive, when he was involved in a minor collision. The victim, who was a passenger in the Mercedes, got out of the car to flag down traffic. As she moved behind the Mercedes, the driver backed up, running over the victim, then rolled forward into a commercial truck. The victim, a relative of the driver’s, was apparently a visitor from overseas. Due to urgency in treatment efforts and language issues, her home city and exact age are not known. The driver was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.
Renton Police are asking any witnesses to the actual collision to contact Officer Hyett at 425-430-7500, regarding case 13-4998.

Original Story: Renton Police are investigating a fatal accident in the intersection of Lake Washington Boulevard North, Northeast Park Drive and Garden Avenue North according to a press release by the City of Renton.
The accident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. and the area will remained closed for several hours while Renton Police investigate.
Renton Fire & Emergency Services spokesperson Bill Flora said EMTs and King County Medics were dispatched at 10:27 to aid an adult woman who was struck by a a car and run over. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, and later pronounced dead.
Southbound traffic on Lake Washington Blvd is being rerouted onto Houser Way.
According to the Washington State DOT tweet I-405 northbound & southbound off-ramps to Sunset Blvd/NE Park Dr (Exit 5) are also closed.
