Family Displaced By Kitchen Fire At Plum Tree Park Apartments

In August, Renton Fire and Emergency Services reported that the total property damage cause by kitchen fire this year alone had reached $1,000,000 in the Greater Renton Service Area.

An unattended pot left on a burning stove can turn into a dangerous fire in mere minutes.

One family at the Plum Tree Park Apartments in the 200 block of Southwest 5th Place learned this lesson the hard way.

Renton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a kitchen fire just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Although the fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system prior to fire department arrival, the family was displaced due to damage caused by the fire. No injuries were reported.
