Explosion Hits Redmond Power Substation

The explosion was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

A power substation explosion has been reported in Redmond.

KIRO-TV reported that flames and black smoke could be seen shooting into the air.

The Redmond Fire Department has responded to the scene.

Twitter users have reported power surges or outages from Everett to University Place, including the Eastside, Renton and Kent, KIRO reported.
