Apartment Fire Displaces Two

Fire still under investigation

Renton Fire and Emergency Services responded to an apartment fire in the 4400 Block of NE Sunset Blvd (Highlands) at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday evening. Upon arrival the first fire engine found heavy smoke coming from a second story apartment. They were able to make a fast attack with one engine company limiting the damage confined to the one apartment unit.

The fire remains under investigation and a damage estimate was unavailable. The Bellevue and Skyway fire departments assisted Renton units in the fire.

The Seattle Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting two adults with emergency housing and food. One of the adults was treated at the scene for emotional distress and remained at the scene.
