37 Firefighters Respond To Cascade Home Fire

Blaze took nearly an hour to extinguish.

Renton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house fire in the Cascade neighborhood on Saturday evening. Dispatched at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Department arrived at the scene, located in the 16500 block of 121st Ave. SE, within five minutes of the call to find “flames shooting through the roof of the structure,” officials said.

A total of 37 firefighters responded, including eight fire engines, two aid units, two ladder trucks and three Battalion Chiefs. Two medics, an MSO, two Renton Police Officers, Kent Fire and the zone-three fire explorer rehab 1 also assisted the crew.

Emergency responders extinguished the fire within 53 minutes of their arrival. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Damage to the structure has not been determined and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, officials said.
