Editor's Note: Not Goodbye, But See You Later

After nearly two years managing Redmond Patch, I'm transitioning to a new regional role within the Patch organization.

The new year is bringing some changes to Redmond Patch.

After nearly two years of managing the site on a daily basis, it's time for me to move on to new things. Effective Jan. 1, I've transitioned to a regional role within Patch called Field Editor. This is a brand-new position that will enable me to provide our 15 Puget Sound-area sites with coverage of topics that affect readers across multiple towns.

Although I will no longer be managing the daily operations of Redmond Patch, you will continue to see my byline on the site from time to time. This message is not so much a "goodbye" but rather an "until we meet again."

That said, leaving my official post as editor of Redmond Patch is bittersweet. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Redmond and the people and places that make the town a great place to live and work.

For the time being, our Woodinville editor, Lisa Baumann, is overseeing the editorial duties for Redmond Patch. To reach her directly, send an email to Redmond@patch.com or call her at 612-839-0822. I know she will appreciate your breaking news tips, story ideas and feedback.

Before signing off from this role, I'd like to thank the many, many community members who have supported the site since its humble inception in February 2011. I'm hopeful these structural changes will enable Redmond Patch and the rest of the Patch organization to serve Redmond more effectively in the months and years to come.

In the meantime, you can continue to reach me at Caitlin.Moran@patch.com or 425-440-1280. Please do keep in touch.

Caitlin, thanks for your support of poetry events in Redmond--and your support of RASP. The video piece you did in November 2011 about Open Mic Night at the OFH Teen Center was wonderful. Now that piece is part of our archives. I'm sure you will do well in your new role. Congratulations, and see you around. :) --Laura Lee Bennett, board member, Redmond Association of Spokenword (RASP), www.raspread.com
