Luminosity
For the next five weeks, prAta Yoga will practice Ardha Candrasana, Half Moon Pose. We will experience the posture (asana) of reflective luminosity; revealing our true nature for all to delight in.
"In this body are stars and planets, the sun and moon, ether, air, fire, water, and earth. He who knows this is a Yogi." Shiva Samhita
The moon does not emanate its own light, but reflects back the energy of the sun. The pull of the moon’s gravity moves the water of our earth. We may feel its gravity in our bodies, our increasing and decreasing cycles of energy.
The purpose of yoga is to still the movement of the mental and emotional turbulence so that we can reflect our true nature, as the quiet face of the moon shows us the light of the sun. As with the lunar waxing and waning, we ebb and flow tranquility. Even with the dark, new moon, its reality is unconditional; there but hidden, sure to return another cycle.
