Read The Label...

Too many products have unnecessary added chemicals, that are touted as “harmless.” It's become the norm rather than the exception that our media bring us regular articles and broadcasts about newly discovered side effects of a product we've used for years, even decades.  Labels are one tool for deciphering most of what it is that we are putting in our bodies, using to clean our kitchens, and spraying in our yards.

Knowing what’s in the products that you use is one of the first steps towards a greener, healthier life. If you can’t find out from the label exactly what’s in a particular product, a little internet research can often turn up useful information.

Or, is it?  An ingredient listed on food products as “Natural Flavor,” really  means nothing other than there is some substance derived in some way from plants or animals that’s approved by the FDA for use in food. Often this is considered proprietary by the company that makes the product.  Sometimes, it’s hard to find out sometimes what it is.  If that’s the case, don’t be shy about calling the company and asking.
