Volunteer Opportunities on the Farm

Did you know there is a farm at the South Treatment Plant in Renton? Come volunteer and learn about urban farming. Work parties start May 5th and will be every first and third Sunday 9:30AM-1PM.

Did you know there is a farm located at the South Treatment Plant in Renton? King County has partnered with Seattle University and the Renton Food Bank and started a small farm in your neighborhood. For over a year, this farm has been operated by Seattle University students and the food grown here has been donated to the Renton Food Bank.

We are now offering public work parties for anyone who is interested in helping out on the farm or learning about urban farming. Public work parties start on Sunday, May 5th, and will run every first and third Sunday from 9:30AM- 1PM. All skill levels and youth with parents are welcome. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with King County employees, Seattle University students, and their fellow community members. This is also a great opportunity for local students who need service learning opportunities!

For first time participants, we would like them to register with Casey Plank at 206-263-6028 or casey.plank@kingcounty.gov.
