Welcome to the new GLOW Women's Health Blog!

Welcome to the new GLOW blog!

On behalf of Valley Medical Center (VMC) we’d like to welcome you to our new GLOW blog! We are excited to share important health and wellness information from a host of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, PAs, nutritionists and others. These experts offer a variety of perspectives on such important topics as heart disease, cancers, parenting adolescent girls, women’s health, nutrition, how to grocery shop, and even a post on New Year resolutions.

If you are not familiar with GLOW, it is Valley Medical Center’s free women’s health and wellness program that launched in the Spring of 2010. We held our kickoff event at the ShoWare arena in Kent, WA, for a crowd of over 1,000 enthusiastic women. It was an evening of great music, stories, giveaways, food and fun—a celebration to remember!  You can check out photos from the kickoff as well as the first anniversary celebration from this past September, on VMC’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/valleymed. To date, GLOW has over 2,200 members, largely from the south King County area.

As women are often the health education seekers and decision makers for themselves and their families, GLOW’s mission is to empower women to make healthy decisions. We hope you will engage in dialogue with us about topics that are important to you. The GLOW Blog is a terrific forum for you to ask questions or make comments. We want to hear from you! Leave a comment or question on the blog, or you can contact us via email at GLOWBlog@valleymed.org.
