Seattle Seahawks Travel to Play the New York Giants

Seattle heads to East Rutherford to take on the New York Giants.

Seattle will be looking to improve on an impressive second-half game performance against the Atlanta Falcons, albeit a 30-28 loss at home last week. If they can keep that mentality and momentum they gained against Atlanta. New York may find themselves trying to stop the quick tempo of Seattle’s offense.

The key will be how effective Seattle can run the football. They have struggled this year getting any type of running game going, and the Giants are tough against the run. They must take advantage of a injury-riddled Giants secondary.

Seattle will be heading into this game with a few notable injuries. Wide receiver Mike Williams will be sitting out with a concussion he suffered in last week's loss. Also, linebacker Matt McCoy is out indefinitely with a knee sprain. The Seahawks have signed David Voroba to fill in for McCoy. Seattle will also be without Guard Robert Gallery who is not expected to return from injury until after Oct. 16th. Safety Kam Chancellor (quadriceps) and Te Zach Miller (knee) are questionable.

If Seattle can get the offense going early and keep the tempo in their favor they have a shot to pull off an upset. The other key will be how well Seattle’s defense can perform. They have been the bright spot for Seattle and must continue that hard-nosed style of play against the run. I think in order to win this game Seattle will have to pressure Eli Manning and force him to make mistakes. Combine all of these and Seattle will have a chance to win its second game of the season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. Go Hawks!
