Talbot Hill Elementary Egg Drop Challenge - Our Fire Department ROCKS!!

Renton Fire Department Teams with Students at Talbot Hill Elementary for their first ever Egg Drop CHALLENGE!

Friday evening, the Renton Fire Department teamed up with parents & teachers from Talbot Hill Elementary, to experience their first ever EGG DROP CHALLENGE!! Students from all grade levels, Kindergarten through 5th grade, built "nests" for their eggs that they believed would sustain a 100 foot drop from the tip of an aeriel ladder and keep their egg from breaking! Projects ranged from eggs surrounded by a bouquet of balloons, bubble-wrap, eggs deep inside a peanut butter jar, to being nestled in the middle of a nerf football! The firefighters "wow-ed" the crowd with their awesome ladder truck, then dropped all projects down to the playground below while the kids cheered, "Drop that egg! Drop that egg!" The grand finale' was a 10 lb. watermelon, with an egg inserted to the middle, that was a true crowd-pleaser!Β

And the night didn't end there! The parent group at Talbot Hill Elementary teamed up with the City of Renton's awesome Neighborhood Program and received a grant to host an outdoor movie in the Talbot Hill playfield. The city brought their blow-up screen and awesome sound-system, while parents and kids cozied up on blankets in the grass. It was an all-out AWESOME night!!

THANK YOU RENTON FIRE DEPARTMENT & CITY OF RENTON!!!
