Information from Puget Sound Energy:

A Renton couple trying to live more sustainably recently won a home lighting makeover worth $750, courtesy of Puget Sound Energy, and you could be a winner too.

Margaret and Joe Gotchy were unsuspecting shoppers at McLendon Hardware in Renton, when former broadcaster turned podcaster Marty Riemer selected Margaret as a winner of Puget Sound Energy’s Makeover Takeover during a two-hour event.

As semi-retired, energy conscious homeowners, Joe and Margaret had already been making small improvements to their home to make it more energy-efficient and to cut their monthly expenses. By installing a programmable thermostat they have already reduced their gas bill by 30 percent, and this lighting retrofit will only enhance those savings.

Meanwhile, the Makeover Takeover with Marty contest continues. Over the span of six weeks, five winners will get a chance to get a Makeover Takeover with Marty too! Winners will receive up to $750 worth of lighting and plenty of advice from an expert lighting designer who will work to make everyone’s lighting dreams come true. To enter, go to PSE’s website at www.reenergizedbydesign.com/participate.
