Rylee's Lemonade Stand - to support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

5-year-old Renton Resident Hosts Alex’s Lemonade Stand To Raise Funds for Childhood Cancer Fight

In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, a local Renton child will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand outside the LA Fitness club in the Fairwood Shopping Center on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 10:30AM-2:30PM. Rylee Clayton, who is 5-years-old, read the book Alex and the Amazing Lemonade Stand,  a story about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation creator Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). Afterward, she asked her mom if she could have a lemonade stand of her own and send the money to help sick kids get better.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $50 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 research projects nationally.
