In the Land of Rain & Salmon Performance

About In the Land of Rain & Salmon

http://www.4culture.org/2014/01/book-its-new-performances-of-rain-salmon/

Adapted by Rachel Atkins from material in the Jewish
Archives at the University of Washington Special Collections Library and the
book, Family of Strangers: Building a Jewish Community in Washington
State, In the Land of Rain and Salmon incorporates stories of
Washington State’s Jewish immigrants who came to the area during the nineteenth
century through the 1920s. The performance, directed by Annie Lareau, weaves
together accounts of individuals who were isolated from each other by
language, religious customs and generations, but who ultimately succeeded
in developing a community that made significant civic and cultural
contributions to Seattle and King County.
